When there is no support available, the therapist will have to look at other ways in which they are able to get the most out of the therapeutic process. This can come in the form of group therapy. This is an informal type of support which is very effective. Patients get to connect with others who are in a similar position. They begin to build valuable friendships.

They may also refer a particular family member to a specialized person who deals with something in particular. A child may be suffering from self esteem. Cognitive behavior therapy can be useful for developing positive feelings. Group therapy can be helpful when someone is suffering from anxiety, depression, grief or other personality disorders.
