How To Fight Caffeine Addiction With Coffee Substitute

By Stephen Walker

The majority of adults around the world find it difficult to visualize beginning the day without some variety of caffeine - usually a cup of coffee, which may or may not have been dispensed from a vending machine or an industrial one. The daily measure of caffeine that anyone takes in could be in their coffee, tea, cocoa, cola drinks, a bar of chocolate or even certain kinds of medicines. Today, we have the coffee substitute to help fight addiction.

Caffeine substitutes or other caffeine free drinks that taste like caffeine have been on supermarket shelves for a long time, but they have never really gained any traction in the marketplace. Consumers just couldn't get enough caffeine, and shunned anything that resembled caffeine but didn't give them that kick they were looking for. Various brand names have come and gone, with each departure seemingly signaling the demise of the substitute market.

Originally, substitutes were used during times when real coffee was not available - during times of famines and during the war in particular. But, when parents soon found out that they could share this herbal beverage (which tasted almost the exact same as caffeine drinks) with their children, it started to become a family ritual.

Some of the products that you can try out as a coffee alternative include Chicory, a root of a perennial flower that is dried and ground for people to drink. Only a small amount is needed to dissolve in water and it is caffeine free. It has a good flavor that most people like.

There are things we see around us besides caffeine, however. If we look for the best substitute or alternative for caffeine, there are choices. Of course, the best substitutes usually don't remind you of coffee very much in anything but color.

Caffeine addicts have a wide variety of different blends and flavors available to them. There used to be a day and time when you could only drink coffee in a couple different ways. These ways were black and/or with cream and/or sugar added. Today there are more blends and flavors available to caffeine addicts than ever before. There are even healthier alternatives that taste just like the real thing available to people who enjoy the taste of caffeine but do not like the side effects it can bring.

Repeating deep breathing exercises will increase your alertness should you start feeling drowsy during the day. If it is practicable, try doing spot jogging for a minute. The additional flow of oxygen to your brain will sharply increase your concentration as well as hone your reflexes. Try drinking a glass of glucose and salt solution twice a day to overcome cramps.

Caffeine is a popular beverage and the popularity of it continues to grow. Healthy alternatives to caffeine are also getting popular because they taste just like different blends of coffee without producing the side effects of caffeine. People have their own individual reasons for drinking caffeine or for drinking healthy caffeine, but for whatever the reason, the popularity of it continues to be on the rise. If you are looking for some alternatives, you need to conduct some research.
