Getting Into Advanced Helicopter Training

By Brenda Thomas

There are lots of interesting kind of jobs or hobbies that people practically enjoy doing. You could be among those whose interest is into walking or running on lands, or be among those who like to explore the sea more, or someone that finds flying more interesting to do. Among all that are mentioned above, flying is something which requires more intensive training.

In terms of flying, like in helicopters, you must be trained or a pilot for you to be able to drive on it. That is why many people enroll themselves in some basic up to advanced helicopter training. The advanced is the last phase of flight school for Navy and Marine Corps helicopter pilots.

This training will take nearly six months, and it is divided into 10 phases. In these stages, pilots will learn about the radio instruments, ground school, formation, tactics, visual and or instrument navigation, low level navigation, basic instruments, trans fams, and night familiarization. Common instrument scans, local course rules, section formation maneuvers, emergency procedures, and etc. Are taught under these ten phases.

In practice, most students take about sixty hours. New Pilots must learn and understand all the rules and regulations, how to understand airspace, read chars, and talk on the radio. They should also learn to navigate and how to fly a helicopter.

Upon choosing an institute for this, you should remember certain factors that you need to consider. Search for a particular institute that offers at least 2 instructors and helicopters. Through this, you will avoid certain problems in terms of unavailability of either of the two in case you only have one each, at least you will have your back ups and you can save time and effort.

The location must also taken into consideration in the decision making which school you would like to enroll. Know the standing of the school in terms of its reputation by a thorough research on the internet or in personal. Evaluate the facilities that they offer as well.

You do not need to have any other experience in aviation to get a license. It does not require any prerequisites. In age, you should at least 14 years old for you to start the training, and eighteen years of age to get a commercial license.

For those who take full time in their training, they could take their license in four months. But mostly, commercial students complete their training in around six months. For those who apply on part time, it takes depending on how often you do it or how often you go to school.

Helicopters cannot carry that much, they are expensive, and they are unquestionably slow, but there are lots of perks when you ride on these, such as the chance to see and enjoy the exquisite scenery of a place during good days, its ability to land easily in certain places, and ability to fly in a slow or low manner. They are fun and challenging, that is why you should what to do in fining the best school with the best location and instructors and facilities for you to get the best training experience.
